Is Homeschooling the Answer?

In this week's podcast, Daniel, Mark and Patrick explored the idea that homeschooling may be able to solve education's problems. This was based on an article entitled, Homeschooling is More Beneficial to Children: Why Homeschooling is Better for Your Child. Take a listen.

  1. A podcast that could have easily been extended to cover the alternate ways of educating children with parents as the teacher. Questions left to ponder... 1. How do parents organize and prepare for the task of homeschooling? 2. What variety of ways do parents meet the education needs of their children? Do they buy a 'homeschool' curriculum? Do they piece together several resources to make their own? 3. How do homeschool co-ops work and are there homeschool trainings for parents? If so, what do they focus on? 4. Lastly, what aspects of homeschooling mentioned in the article can inform public schooling such that its industrial model is altered? (a few were mentioned in the podcast by Danny, but, alas, the session ended before that could be explored)
